ServicesStorm Damage Repair
Storm Damage Repair in Taylor Mill
When wind lifts shingles or hail bruises them, we get on the roof, photograph what changed and tell you plainly whether it needs a repair, a section replaced or a new roof. You hear the cause, the cost drivers and your options before anything is scheduled.

What storm damage repair covers
Storm damage is often quieter than people expect. A line of spring thunderstorms can crease a shingle tab without tearing it off, and hail can knock granules loose so the asphalt underneath starts aging in the sun. From the yard, the roof looks fine. Months later, a stain shows up on a bedroom ceiling.
We start by sorting out what the storm did from what years of sun and weather did. Then we put it right with shingles, flashing and trim chosen to blend with the roof already on your home. Sometimes that means a dozen shingles and a length of drip edge. Other times hail has bruised every slope, and patching would only put off a roof replacement. Either way, you hear our reasoning before you decide.
If you plan to file an insurance claim, we document the damage and can be on site when your adjuster visits. The coverage decision is theirs. Our part is making sure the damage is clearly on record.

What the work includes
- 01
Photo documentation
We photograph each damaged spot with a marker for scale, plus wide shots that show where it sits on the roof. You keep the photos whether you hire us or not.
- 02
Shingle and ridge cap replacement
Creased, torn or missing shingles are replaced and hand-sealed. We match color and profile as closely as current product lines allow, and we tell you up front if your shingle has been discontinued.
- 03
Flashing and vent repair
High wind bends step flashing, lifts counterflashing at chimneys and cracks plastic vent caps. These are where water gets in first, so we reset or replace them.
- 04
Decking checks
Where shingles came off, we check the wood below for soaked or soft spots and replace boards that will no longer hold a nail.
- 05
Gutter and siding damage
Hail dents gutters and cracks vinyl siding. We note it on the same visit, and our gutters and siding work covers those repairs, so you deal with one company.
- 06
Temporary cover
If a section is open, we secure a tarp over it until the repair date so rain stays out of the attic.
Questions about Storm Damage Repair?
Call(859) 214-7947Signs the storm reached your roof
Shingles in the yard
Even one or two mean the wind found a weak edge. The shingles around the gap are often loosened too.
Grit piling up at downspouts
A heavy wash of dark granules after hail suggests the shingle surface took hits. Some shedding is normal on a new roof; a sudden pile is not.
Dented gutters, vents or AC fins
Soft metal shows hail size well. If those are dented, the shingles above likely took the same blows.
A new stain or damp attic insulation
Look in the attic after the next rain. Wet insulation or dark spots on the decking point to a breach, even while the ceiling below is still dry.
Lifted shingle edges
Shingles that flap in wind have lost their seal strip. They may lie flat again, but they will not hold the next time.
How a storm repair runs
- 1
Your call and a free inspection
Tell us when the storm hit and what you noticed. We set a time to look over the roof, gutters and siding, then walk you through what we found.
- 2
Photos and a written estimate
You get the photos and a line-item estimate that separates storm damage from ordinary age. If you are filing a claim, you can share both with your insurer.
- 3
Repair day
We cover landscaping and protect the driveway, remove damaged material, replace torn underlayment and install new shingles, flashing and vents. Most repairs finish in a day.
- 4
Cleanup and a final walk
A magnetic sweeper goes over the yard and driveway for nails, debris comes out of the gutters, and we show you the finished work with after photos.
What moves the cost
Every storm repair is priced from what we find on your roof, so we do not quote figures before an inspection. A handful of things move the number more than anything else. When a claim is in play, the share you cover yourself is set by your policy terms and deductible, and we simply price the work.
- How much of the roof was hit
- Swapping out a few missing shingles on one slope is usually a few hours of work. When hail bruises turn up on every slope, a new roof can make more sense than patching piece by piece.
- Matching older shingles
- If your shingle line is discontinued, a clean match may mean redoing a whole slope so the roof looks right from the street.
- Decking and underlayment
- Water that sat under lifted shingles can soften the plywood. Replacing boards adds material and labor that only shows once the old shingles are off, and we call you before doing it.
- Pitch and access
- Steep roofs need more safety gear and move slower. Tall second stories and tight side yards add time too.
- Gutters, siding and vents
- Damage beyond the shingles adds line items, each priced separately so you can see it.
Storm damage questions
Do I contact my insurer or a roofer first?
Many homeowners start with an inspection, since it shows whether there is damage worth claiming at all. If what we find is minor and the repair would land near your deductible, paying for it yourself may be the simpler path. You keep the photos regardless, and the choice stays with you.
Do you deal with my insurance adjuster?
If you like, we can be there when the adjuster visits and show them each spot in our photos. We do not negotiate your claim or act as your adjuster; that stays between you and your insurer. We are glad to explain any line on their estimate you are unsure about.
How soon after a storm should the roof be checked?
Within a few weeks is wise. Many policies set a time limit for reporting damage, and a small breach lets in more water with each rain. Freeze and thaw through a Northern Kentucky winter can also widen a crack that started in a summer storm.
Will new shingles match the rest of my roof?
Usually they come close. Shingles fade, and some colors are discontinued, so a fresh patch can look slightly different at first. We show you the nearest match before ordering and tell you honestly if it will stand out.
Is hail damage visible from the ground?
Rarely. Hail bruises are small and look like dark spots where granules are gone. Dented gutters and vents are easier clues, but a close look on the roof is the only sure answer.
